TOTAL WORTH

TOTAL WORTH by Janice M. Wilson

I’d been catapulted through too many contract jobs and unstable corporations. Of course, it’s the new norm and I know I’m not the only one experiencing this craziness. It is just how it is now in the job market – if you’re not a CEO/President. Even knowing that, after a while my self-worth still takes a little beating and it’s a constant battle to keep the chin up.  Hey, I’m just being honest.

Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. (Luke 12:27)

Not long before I was laid off (with a huge number of others) from a defense contractor, I was given the opportunity to view an intranet corporate sponsored ‘employee-worth’ profile page, which exhibited how much money they paid me, how much was going for medical, taxes, training, retirement funds, etc. It was a polite reminder of how much THEY were paying towards my employment there.  It was a big number, more than I thought. Then we were told shortly after the ordination of the current President that lay-offs were coming. Oh goody.

I knew if I were let go, gone are all those great medical benefits and steady paychecks.  There’s a lot more to life than those two things, of course, and I did previously post about this life change in Catapult. But here I want to point out the lack of worth the world intrudes on each of us every waking minute.

The disrespect doesn’t stop there at:

  1. job instability;

  2. injury/sickness disability and medical coverage – the price of a basic human right is beyond affordability which even companies will not pay;

  3. lack of good pure food (without GMOs, pesticides, horomones, etc);

  4. lack of safe (without 10+ side effects) and affordable medicine (another basic human right);

  5. killing the next generation before they are born;

  6. our desensitizing trash entertainment industry;

  7. dumbing down our reasoning and education;

  8. degrading our values and capabilities and replacing those with low standards and expectations;

  9. promoting our sense of entitlement for everything under the sun as hand-outs without encouraging accomplishment through hard work and using the brain.

That’s after the global:

  1. degrading of women and children through unrealistic ‘modeled’ anorexic expectations (often through poisonous silicone enhancements);

  2. possible kidnapping then rape, drugging and enslavement in the sex industry;

  3. and the promotion of pornography for all – everywhere we look.

Pretty picture, isn’t it – NOT?!  Everything listed is a constant reminder of how little the world values human life (and plants, animals, the sea, etc.)  Unless it brings them (all industries) abundant money or fame.  That’s what the WORLD demands for us to be liked and accepted.

You’ll find it is the total opposite of what Christ values in us:

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (John 14:27)

Because of that, Christ bought us at a very high price – with his life – because he loves us.  (1Cor 7:23, John 3:16)

I’m just passing through this world (Hebrews 13:14) and finishing the race to go beyond this world and to another Kingdom where there is no sin to corrupt it.  All my experiences in the negative filth of sin, devious behavior, and those trying to snuff out my inner light and joy have taught me that this world is in a constant unseen war, and it hates the light. (John 3:20-21)

I could be just floating along and blissfully ignorant of all that reckoning, going along in my own natural impulses like everybody else. But I belong to Someone else that is not of this world (John 18:36), and I am worth a lot to Him to redeem my imperfect soul (and everyone else’s PLUS nature) to fill it with a supernatural Hope and Love that I can’t find here! (Romans 8:18-23)

That’s a great Hope from a great Love!

Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?         (Matthew 6:26)

No money or prestigious titles or worldly fame or Kingdoms can replace what I’m worth – A Father’s Love – because He won’t forsake me or trade me in.  I’m worth it to Him to prepare a place of total healing and peace – forever.

And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us… (Ephesians 3:19-20)

And you’re worth that too (Titus 2:14). No matter what you have done or who you are. Agree with Christ that you sin and the imperfections need to be forgiven and obliterated from your slate, believe that Christ had paid your ransom, then confess your sins. (Acts 3:19)

Get ready to start a whole new eternal life with Him! There are a whole lot of linked verses on this post to show your worth in Him. Don’t just take my word for it – read them all prayerfully and in context!

 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (2Cor 5:17)

He’s a thought and prayer away, and waiting for those to seek Him, for He loves you!

But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows. (Luke 12:7)

Remember – No matter what happens (I need this reminder frequently too) – they can’t have your joy or your worth – it’s not theirs to take from you. Those only belong to you God!

But let all those that put their trust in You rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them: let them also that love Your Name be joyful in You (Psalm 5:11)
