Today you will be with me in paradise! (Luke 23-43)
What a promise to make someone on the brink of death! Jesus promised this to a sinner who may have believed in him for a few minutes.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (John 3:16-18)
Most who don’t believe in God say ‘your god is judgemental’, or ‘what kind of god puts innocent people in hell?’ Jesus came to save the world not condemn it. But the world always makes him to be a cold and distant God or or one who has forsaken us because of the bad things going on. Truth is we have asked Him to step aside in so many ways. We are seeing the results of that. It’s our fault things are so bad, not His!
If you trust your leaders to prepare you for Utopia or ‘new world order’, well- it’s never been done before on Earth under man’s own power. (Romans 12:2-3) Perfect peace will NEVER remain on earth with imperfect man! (that’s my next blog piece, coming shortly).
And things continue to worsen under man’s ideals and power, not improve.
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. (John 3:19-20)
He knew there would be no paradise on earth when he said that and And died on the cross for you. He knew we would have troubles in life and at the last second he assured Paradise to a thief that this world cannot touch or corrupt.
This last minute redeemed person could be you. Or you could be the other thief on the other side of him who was not offered Paradise and died a very painful lonely death. Your choice. (John 6:47)
God is not condemning this world Because we are doing a fine job of that for ourselves. He will save it in clean up at the end and get rid of those who destroyed it and those who followed them. It has never been about condemning…..its about redeeming us from our own train wrecks, with assured salvation after a short life. Won’t you take the free gift of grace today?
He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life. (1 John 5:12-13)
